How to use RoomFitLayout
RoomFitLayout is designed for the first practical question of a move or rearrangement: will the room still work once the big pieces are in?
Quick start
- Set the room width, depth, centered door wall, and desired walkway clearance.
- Add furniture presets such as a bed, desk, wardrobe, sofa, or table.
- Select a piece from the list, then click a grid cell to move it inside the room.
- Rotate pieces as needed and nudge them into better positions.
- Review the doorway status, reachable-piece count, warnings, and copied move brief.
What the checks mean
- Doorway tells you whether the centered entry zone is blocked immediately inside the room.
- Reachable pieces counts how many pieces still have a free front edge that can be reached from the door.
- Tightest gap shows the smallest wall-or-furniture gap found in the current arrangement.
- Coverage estimates how much of the room footprint is occupied by furniture.
Best uses
- testing a bedroom before a move
- checking whether a guest room can hold a desk as well as a bed
- planning a compact studio layout without opening a heavy 3D design suite
Important limits
RoomFitLayout is a practical sketch tool, not a structural survey, legal floor-plan document, or guarantee that real furniture will clear every hallway, skirting board, radiator, or door swing in your home.
